Maryland Family Farm Wedding

I’m so excited to finally share this Maryland Family Farm wedding on the blog. Today I will share the pre-ceremony photos, including the bride and groom getting ready, their portraits, and the portraits with their wedding party. Check back to the blog later for the ceremony and the reception photos.

This was an autumnal but also trendy color palette, including burgundy, maroon, rust, burnt orange, terracotta, mustard, millennial pink, and more. I love it when my clients are not afraid of color, and go maximalist with their palettes. Your florals will be even more stunning for it.

Home weddings lend themselves to gorgeous getting-ready photos, because you are not in a generic hotel room but a place with history and character.

This couple had the best fashion. I love her headband and his bolo tie. Her wedding white cowboy boots were perfection, I wish he had worn boots too. Such a gorgeous couple.

Not only did we have a first look, which I always recommend, but the couple also exchanged private vows during this part of the day.

If you want gorgeous wedding photos like this, you need to set aside a lot of time to make them. This is best accomplished by doing a first look and then setting aside an hour, yes a whole hour, for your couple portraits. Especially when you are on a family farm, where there are many nooks and crannies in which to take wedding photos.

You should also schedule time to go out for golden hour photos. Often I find this is best done between first course and entree course, but please make sure your photographer knows to keep an eye on the time – ten minutes at most so that you don’t miss eating your dinner!
