This is a lovely at-home Potomac wedding reception, where the cocktail hour was by the pool, and dinner was under a gorgeous sailcloth tent in the front yard. Click to see their at-home Maryland wedding ceremony.
I’m a broken record, I know, but at-home weddings allow for some of the best portrait opportunities. And yes, partially because no one else will likely ever have the same opportunities. The above swing caught my eye when I first toured the home, when planning the wedding. I hoped we could make something like this photo!
At-Home Potomac Wedding Reception Tent
We set up a gorgeous sailcloth tent in the front yard, where space was largest and the ground was flat. A classic color palette of navy and white worked well for this summer wedding.
The bride hailed originally from Maryland, and the groom from California. For the menu they opted for stations designed around the cuisines of those two states. It was positively delicious.
And this, ladies and gents, is why you pay extra for the sailcloth tent. That gorgeous, gorgeous glow at night.
For the OG DC readers of this blog, there used to be a club named LOVE. The homeowner obtained the sign when the club closed it’s doors. He installed them in his front yard for the wedding. Guests loved taking photos with it all day and night.
