I’m excited to share this Southern Maryland Waterfront Wedding with you today. It was a gorgeous outdoor wedding ceremony followed by a brunch buffet in a sailcloth tent. The bride wore blue, and the color palette was feminine and delicate.
Southern Maryland Waterfront Wedding Ceremony
An encore wedding is always full of love and laughter. When the children and grandchildren of the couple in attendance and a long-time family friend officiating, the smiles are just contagious. And yes, it was very very windy!
Waterfront Wedding Family Photos
If this home/backyard or this family looks familiar, you are right! We worked at another family wedding at this home two years prior. Check out their waterfront ceremony and secret garden tent reception. Since we were repeating the wedding site, we took the trouble to come up with new ideas, new rentals, and a new color palette so that the two weddings were distinct from each other. Seeing how the family had grown in those two years was great fun. And it was a joy to replicate the family photos taken in 2020 once again in 2022.
Tented Brunch Wedding Reception
Despite the gorgeous location, the couple wanted a casual affair. We opted for a brunch reception with a buffet menu. The newlyweds didn’t want any fuss, but I had to embellish their place settings with custom place cards, a nautical knot napkin ring and mini compasses. The precious two-tiered cake was indeed leaning, and we had to separate the tiers before the cake cutting. Even though the tent was open on all sides, we designated an entrance and covered the poles and the straps with greenery.
Tented Wedding Floor Plan
Below, you will find the floor plan that we used for this waterfront brunch wedding. It shows the ceremony chair set up as well as the casual tables we had for the cocktail hour. This was a 20×37 oval sailcloth tent – not a rectangle, as seen in the drawing below.
