Today I’m sharing a beautiful Virginia home wedding barn reception. I’ve already shared Becca and Will’s Virginia backyard farm wedding ceremony.
If you think it looks brand new, that’s because it is. The doors and windows were installed the day before the wedding. It was a push to the finish line!
As pretty as this terrace is, we didn’t really use it. We had a small clear top tent set up on the rear of the barn. That is where people were for cocktail hour, due to rain.
Virginia Home Wedding: Barn Reception
This barn was destined to be a working barn, full of tools and machinery. So we wrapped the space in this delicate sheer drape to soften the wood beams.
Becca was so excited about the floral chandelier, and it turned out great. Originally the proposal called for it to be 6 feet long. When we realized the head table would be 22 feet long, we doubled the floral chandelier (which also doubled the cost.) In hindsight it probably could have been even bigger!
Becca’s father is a decorated veteran, and his sabre was used for the cake cutting. I love these facial expressions!
John Bracken did a great job with the string lights over the dance floor and the up-lighting in the rafters. This is an example of why installation schedules are important. Lighting had to be done before draping, in this case.
The amazing team for this Virginia home wedding barn reception was:
