I’m back, as promised, with the tented reception for this Maryland Home wedding. We used a gorgeous sailcloth tent (floor plan at the bottom) to create a warm space for gathering, dining, and dancing.
We were facing cooler temps in the evening, so we provided pashminas for the guests. Custom koozies were the party favor, and we also had a fun temporary tattoo station as a guest activity. The couple DIYed all their stationery using an online template (I think it was from Zola.)

This wedding cake still makes my mouth water, years later.
The very cool lounge backdrop was partially a rental and partially a DIY from the couple. I’m so in love with the way it turned out. Large DIYs like this are most easily executed at home weddings since the set- up and breakdown hours are much, much more flexible. We were able to set this up on Friday afternoon before the rehearsal.
We used the color champagne as our base for all our colorful rentals and florals. From the sailcloth tent to the linens to the tent flooring, we keep these light and neutral so that the bolder accents would really pop and catch the eyes of the guests. And the head table got special napkins and charger plates. We had to be creative with the place cards since it was windy that day as well.
Here is the floor plan for this Maryland home wedding tented reception. A sailcloth tent is oval, so you will notice that difference from other floor plans I’ve shared. The black dots are the center tent poles that we have to design around.
