Courtney and Cameron had an at-home Virginia wedding that I will never forget. The night before their wedding, an incredible storm called a derecho (a fast-moving thunderstorm with hurricane-force winds) ripped through the area. This damaged their wedding tents which were already set up and knocking out power across the state.
Fortunately, we had the very best team of wedding pros possible, and everyone rallied overnight to make sure that the wedding day went off without a hitch.
This post will focus on the appetizer reception that was held on the pool deck of Courtney’s parents’ home. After guests made their way from the valet station and through the receiving line, Design Cuisine served fun summer drinks and delicious hors d’oeuvres.
Holly Chapple did all of the amazing florals that you will see at this home Virginia wedding. And Michelle Lindsay created all of these gorgeous photos.

Courtney’s parents took my advice, and closed their home to all guests except those who elderly who needed a reprieve from the heat. The storm did knock out the power, but Skyline Tents brought an extra generator on Saturday morning to help keep the house cool.
